Terms and Conditions

 

Conditions of Entry and Sale:

  1. Each competitor may enter as many pieces of ORIGINAL pieces of Artwork. Entries/pieces must be suitably framed or stretched canvas; name of artist, price and size of painting must be marked on the back of the painting, using the labels provided through online acceptance of artwork.

  2. Maximum SIZE of paintings ARE NOT to exceed 1 square metre.

  3. 'Sizing' includes the frame. ALL paintings MUST be ready to hang.

  4. Entries for the *Hobsons Bay Scene category and Young Artists Award must be identified on the entry.

  5. PRINTS, of original pieces of your work, will be accepted (conditions apply ie: original pieces v's prints). If you are entering a PRINT, For Sale, the piece MUST be clearly marked as PRINT and original medium labelled. PRINTS are not be eligible for Judging.

  6. Each artist must Register and Lodge Entry online, either through the Hobsons Bay Art Show website or Gallery247 website.  A $5 Entry fee  is to payable to Hobsons Bay Art Show on submission. Payments for entered pieces will not be deducted until Artwork has been accepted by Rotary Club Altona.

  7. All Artwork registered by Artist is the responsibility of the Artist and to adhere by Rotary Club of Altona's Terms and Conditions. No refunds will be considered/given, if registered by mistake, and has not been rectified by Artist prior to closing date; or if piece is sold prior to Show date. Once piece of artwork is registered and accepted by Art Show costs will be deducted. 

  8. Upon acceptance, the following costs will apply per individual piece of artwork, these fees are non-refundable :

    The Rotary Club of Altona will select Painting for Exhibit. Artist then will pay the fee applicable for size and number of Paintings selected and the Rotary Club of Altona guarantee that Paintings Selected WILL be exhibited.

    $22.00 for each accepted painting having an overall area of no larger than 1 square metre

  9. The Rotary Club of Altona Inc. reserves the right to exhibit such of the entries as the club may select for a period ending latest 3.00pm on Sunday the 20th October 2019

  10. On entering of Artwork and Sale of Artwork, the club shall be entitled to retain 25% of such price as the selling commission to be used by the Rotary Club of Altona Inc. for charitable purposes.

  11. The judge of the competition shall be as appointed by the Rotary Club of Altona Inc. The judge’s decision shall be final. the Judge's name will not be released to Artists prior to Exhibit.

  12. Any damage to or loss of any exhibit, however and whenever occurring and whether whilst in transit, on display, in storage or otherwise shall be the sole responsibility of the exhibitor. The Rotary Club of Altona will take every care with the exhibits, but does not accept responsibility or liability for any such damage or loss and advises all exhibitors to insure against such damage or loss.

  13. SPECIAL NOTE: Entries must be delivered free of all charges. No payments what-so-ever will be made by the Club for freight or other charges incurred in delivery or return of the entry. No responsibility will be taken by Rotary Club of Altona to return Artwork, it is the responsibility of Artist to collect and/or arrange freight for their own pieces of Artwork.

  14. All artwork submitted will be for competition. All artwork displayed will be for sale. No discussions will be entered into on these points.

  15. Rotary Altona conducts finances electronically SALES of exhibits will be processed during week after Show. Artist, please ensure you forward banking details to process transaction.                                   * If Artist require a CHEQUE to be posted to the address of the artist, this will be no later than twenty- one days after the close of the exhibition.

  16. Paintings not accompanied by an image when entries are closed will not be accepted. (negotiable)

  17. ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER MIDNIGHT  7th October 2019.

  18. Artist Art show acceptance notification by 10th October COB

 

ARTIST DELIVERY Information  (Day, Date and times)

DELIVERY OF ARTWORK - Note* ALL Artworks are to be ready to be hung ie: correct hanging 

Paintings delivered by artists to  Altona RSL 31 Sargood Street, Altona 3018 

(entering the RSL Doors from RSL carpark) between 1pm - 6:00pm on Wednesday  16th October 2019

 

COURIER SERVICES:

Artists are to arrange their own Courier Service or Australian Post.

Please check with YOUR Courier when they need artwork to be delivered to their depots for delivery to Altona RSL

Wednesday 16th October, 2019.  Artist will need to make arrangements with the courier concerned.
